In the 1850s, Charles Darwin wrote an influential and controversial book called On the Origin of Species, in short terms, according to theory in this book man evolved from monkey.
Our ancestors led by instinct to survive but also with need to have more (in search for food) come down from the trees and began hunting, learned how to process the land, domesticated animals from which they received milk, meat but also wool, leather and other things. Some chose to stay in the trees, eat leaves and bugs and lay on branches and they remain monkeys.
In reality, the true development of humanity began with the invent of the letter, when knowledge started to be written down and passed on from generation to generation. At first, power was in those who had knowledge and even had periods in time when those knowledge was jealously guarded and passed on to a limited group of people.
You surely know many cases from the past when people searching for new knowledge explored, traveled, died, become heroes but also devils because change is difficult.
Today, in the era of modern IT technology and computers, everything it is more accessible, easier and at the same time knowledge can be obtained with a few clicks on your computer or on your smartphone.
So, today life is easier, everything it is more accessible and we only have to use the benefits of modern times. That’s right, but that is also a trap. Availability makes us stupid and lazy. And laziness it is the greatest disease of today’s time.
This availability of information, knowledge and opportunities leads to this general thinking that everything can be done without much effort, that money and a better life are easily accessible. Various financial institutions that offer fast money (fast loans) only complement this ambition.
The essence of human existence remains the same and it is that only effort, will and learning can benefit progress. But that also means giving up many amenities and an easy life. You know, there’s one, I’d call it a phenomenon, in our country. In the middle of the working days, cafeterias are full with people in working hours. This happens in every city of the state. The question is why instead of workin, producing, and making profits, an easier way is chosen and that is not working and gossiping.
Do you remember Sisyphus, a greek mythology character who pushed the stone up the hill, and stone was coming back down again and again.
Laziness it’s that rock that pull us down not allowing us to climb the hill. Many decided not to push the stone. It is easier to stay at the bottom of the mountain and blame heavens for the rain, sun, wind. Interesting fact it is that the almost everyone from the bottom are willing to agree with you that here is also beautiful and there is no need for any effort to do such hard task as climbing and pushing up the rock. Common look around you, we are so many, and we are looking grate.
As a side effect of this disease is vanity and tendency to accus everyone else of our own failures. Don’t you know this, everyone else is to blame for what’s happening to us. So who is he/she to tell me how and what to do, so we are all born to succeed but the parents did not support us, we was hated by the professors at school or the manager at the company, we are flowless but that it is not recognized.
Yes, the stone is heavy but there is also another true and that is that your success is hardly is to be forgiven. So many people at the bottom will pat you on the shoulder and be happy if you are with them and not on the hill. If you are with them, they will justify their one being in laziness and mediocrity.
The point of this is that changing of a society should and must begin with the individual change, each individual should stand up and push the stone up to the hill regardless of his weight and bumpy terrain.
The change is also an individual act. Today we all can find many techniques for success, ways to motivate yourself, everyone can and will give you recommendations how to do thins but without will and desire for change the change will not come.
No matter how long it takes us to climb, as we go up the stone will weigh more and more but for sure the view from the top of the mountain is more beautiful and worth it.
Am I right? Check it? And remember that even the longest journey begins with first step.
